The word "lisp'

Whose cruel idea was it for the word "lisp" to have an "s" in it?

People who speak with a lisp have a hard enough time without having to explain their condition using the term "lisp."

So not only can they not pronounce the letter "s" but they have to say "I have a lisp" also, to do what? Give an example?

The Online Etymology Dictionary says the word "lisp" comes from the Old English word "awlyspian."

I guess they are better off saying "lisp" than "awlyspian" but what jerk made the word have an "s" in the first place?

I guess it will just remain to be something that keeps me up at night.
